CAMDEN MARKET is a well known London landmark. Its reputation precedes it as one of the top places to go to shop and eat. Its hipster/ alternative culture scene attracts many of the city’s younger population as well as tourists coming to get a taste of what the area has to offer.
Many vintage clothing stores and antique stores operate in stalls and stores in the market. A lot of them have been around for many years, that now they have been part of the whole Camden scene.
Scope:
I have been approached by a student study group working in collaboration with the Borough of Camden to study the feasibility in having the Camden market’s antique stores transfer the shopping experience into an e-commerce platform.
Project:
UXR (User Experience Research)
Tools Used:
SKETCH | MARVEL APP | INVISION
UX Methodologies:
Qualitative/ Quantitative Analysis | Contextual Inquiry | Domain Research | Affinity Diagram | Feature Prioritisation | User Persona Development | User Scenario | User Journey Diagram | Hand Sketching ( Low Fidelity Wire Framing) | Mid Fidelity Wire Framing (Sketch) | Prototyping (Marvel + Invision) | Usability Testing
Project Outcome:
To be able to push the small cornered product, I had to add as much features to create a diversion — then cross link them both together. Using a Gamification feature always adds a bit of excitement to any project. Videos and visual illustrations is always nice to catch user’s attention and to bring your product out to a wider audience. All but to say is that UX user research is the key element in building the key features and understanding the user’s needs. Any phase of the project, so as the Usability testings, always has to revolve around the goals and objectives of that user.
